Meeting between the PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky and the Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova Claus Neukirch was held at the presidential executive office. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR Vitaly Ignatiev was invited to the conversation.
Welcoming the guest, Vadim Krasnoselsky noted that the meetings are systematic, which allows timely exchange of up-to-date information on the current state of affairs. Well known to the parties the issues of the negotiation agenda acquire particular urgency in the current difficult realities, the PMR President noted. He emphasized the inadmissibility of attempts to extract political benefits from the most difficult situation, the hostages of which were Pridnestrovians. Vadim Krasnoselsky considers that the negotiation process should continue despite the more than modest likelihood of holding a meeting of participants in the “5 + 2” format in the foreseeable future due to difficulties in relations between the guarantor countries. The effectiveness of the activities of the expert (working) groups is currently low, the PMR President stated. He considers it necessary to intensify the work of the “Permanent Conference…” format with contacts in the “1+1” mode.
The European diplomat noted for his part that he welcomes the regularity of working contacts. Claus Neukirch emphasized that he positively assesses and supports any form of constructive dialogue between Pridnestrovie and the Republic of Moldova. The Head of the OSCE Mission to the Republic of Moldova focused on the fact that the parties are aimed at ensuring stability and peace on both banks of the Dniester.
The meeting participants exchanged views on a wide range of issues, discussed options for solving problematic aspects, and agreed to continue the practice of regular interaction.
