Sergey Obolonik, First Deputy Chairman of the Government of the PMR and Minister of Economic Development, presented an update on the republic’s readiness for the upcoming heating season at the request of the PMR President. According to him, the "Tirasteploenergo" state-owned enterprise manages 161 boiler houses, 355 boilers, and 124 heating substations, along with 434 kilometers of two-pipe heating networks. Inspections of chimneys have been conducted, and 47 boilers have undergone diagnostic testing. Hydraulic pressure tests revealed 35 ruptures in main heating lines and 57 in local distribution networks; all have since been repaired. 7413 meters of heating networks have been replaced since the beginning of the year. 40% of the planned investment program for "Teploenergo" has been implemented as of now.
Certificates of readiness for the heating season have been issued to 1502 apartment buildings (90%), 246 schools and kindergartens (92%), and 219 other consumers (80%) to date. Sergey Obolonik noted that medical and preschool facilities are fully prepared. Schools in Grigoriopol, Slobodzeya, Rybnitsa, Kamenka, and Dubossary have reached 100% readiness, while schools in Tiraspol and Bendery are at 98% and 97%, respectively. Cultural and social-service facilities are 50% and 40% prepared respectively in Tiraspol and Slobodzeya, while these facilities are fully ready for the heating season in all other cities. Heating is currently being provided to 28 facilities with 24-hour occupancy under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Social Protection and Labor, and local state administrations as well as to the Olympic Reserve School, a lyceum complex, and 115 kindergartens and kindergarten-school centers. Taking into consideration the weather forecast and the upcoming school break, heating in schools is scheduled to be turned on a few days before the start of the second academic term. The launch of centralized heating is expected toward the end of the first ten days of November for residential buildings.
The speaker outlined which facilities are served by boiler plants equipped with dual-fuel (gas/diesel) burners. He reported that specialists from the "Unified Distribution Power Networks" State Unitary Enterprise have inspected 16 power generators, and provided an update on the stockpiling of firewood and coal in each district.
Vadim Krasnoselsky issued instructions to step up the procurement of firewood, build up reserves of diesel fuel, and place greater emphasis on the development of renewable energy. The President highlighted in particular the necessity of solar panels installation on hospital buildings that house intensive care and surgical units.
