The PMR President, representatives of the leadership of the PMR Government, the Supreme Council, ministries and departments of the security bloc, peacekeeping forces, the Tiraspol administration and the city council arrived on the festive morning to the capital's Memorial of Glory to honor the memory of the heroes who gave their lives defending the Fatherland. The presidential wreath was lowered to the Eternal Flame, flowers in bulk lay at the monuments and graves of the defenders. Vadim Krasnoselsky at the end of the ceremony congratulated soldiers, officers and everyone who is on guard for peace and is ready to protect the Pridnestrovian people at any moment, recalling the military roots of the history of Tiraspol and the inseparability of the ties of the Pridnestrovian army with Russian peacekeeping.
“The history of Pridnestrovie is inextricably linked with the military history of Russia. The city of Tiraspol owes its origin to the service people, the defenders of the Fatherland. First, tents appeared on this place, where Suvorov's grenadiers were housed, there was a tent town, then a military settlement, later a settlement, then a city and, finally, the capital of the Pridnestrovian state. Epochs changed, but the feat of arms of the defenders of the Fatherland, those who at different times defended our land from invaders, remained unchanged. Today we are at the memorial where the soldiers of the Great Patriotic War and those who defended our region from the nationalists of Moldova were buried here and in 1992. We must remember those who fell in battle, we must honor their memory. Unfortunately, in many states today they forget the feat of the defenders of their Fatherland - both the feats of the soldiers of the Russian Empire and the feats of the soldiers of the Great Patriotic War - and are trying to rewrite history. Who is doing this? Probably, this is due to the revanchism of those who once lost, more precisely they were put in their place in all the wars that Russia led. Epochs go by, one thing is invariably - the feat of arms of the defender of the Fatherland, as I said. The Russian military, Russian peacekeepers, together with the servicemen of the Pridnestrovian army, have been protecting peace and tranquility on this land, on the Pridnestrovian land, from the first day of the foundation of the city of Tiraspol to this day”, said Vadim Krasnoselsky. Congratulating the servicemen and all Pridnestrovians on the Defender of the Fatherland Day, the President wished peace, health, prosperity, stability and prosperity.
