The legislature, chaired by Vadim Krasnoselsky in 2015, was the ordering party of publication of the four-volume "History of Pridnestrovie". The performer of the work is the laboratory of the PSU. Work plan was developed, schedule was approved at proper time. The publication was planned to coincide with the 30th anniversary of the creation of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. The interim results of collective work were not timely presented to the ordering party. The President drew attention to the situation. In December last year, Vadim Krasnoselsky instructed to check the effectiveness of the laboratory. By the end of the year, the authors provided the text in three volumes at once - so far without any illustrations and enclosed materials. After studying the contents of the manuscript of a thousand pages, the commission members concluded that the percentage of new information and originality of the text is extremely low. Most of the questions to the third volume - it almost completely duplicates the information presented in previous editions, dated to the beginning of 2000s. Alexei Tsurcan told the President today that in addition, they did not cover the declared temporary period: it was assumed that the third volume of "History of Pridnestrovie" would be dedicated to the events that took place in the republic until 2000 and a line was drawn in the manuscript by 1992. According to him, the opinion of the commission members is unanimous: the activity of the research laboratory that started the monograph writing, was recognized as ineffective. It is recommended to terminate the relevant contract and stop financing Scientific Research Laboratory in terms of the implementation of this order.
Vadim Krasnoselsky, calling the “History of Pridnestrovie” an important fundamental work, noted the significance of the publication for Pridnestrovian statehood. According to him, history is a living organism that requires constant attention and respect. The President emphasized that the updated publication, as the basic material, is also expected in the educational institutions by teachers, schoolchildren, students. The President emphasized that such work should not be done in a rush. The laboratory was given enough time for full-fledged research activities. The President has questions to the state university, as the official Contractor of the state order, regarding the fulfillment of control functions. The monograph should be published no later than the spring of 2020, so that by September we have ready quality product in our hands. We cannot risk, leaving the situation unattended. It is necessary to assemble a new creative team. Naturally, it will also include representatives of the scientific community who worked on the publication. Nobody disputes their contribution. But the Scientific Research Laboratory management did not cope with the task. We need new people in charge who will intensify efforts and steer on the right course. Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized that the task remains unchanged: by September 2, 2020, full-fledged, qualitatively illustrated “History of Pridnestrovie” in four volumes should be presented to the attention of Pridnestrovians and all those who are interested in the past and present of the republic.
