Vadim Krasnoselsky met with Swedish Ambassador Katarina Fried

A group of diplomats headed by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Sweden to the Republic of Moldova Katarina Fried arrived in Tiraspol. The delegation was received by the PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky. The meeting took place in the negotiation room of presidential executive office. The visit is considered informational officially, since Katarina Fried is visiting the Pridnestrovian capital for the first time and for the first time as the Head of a foreign embassy communicates directly with the President. At the same time, the acquaintance with the diplomat took place two weeks earlier: Katarina Fried was introduced to Vadim Krasnoselsky in Bendery on September 14; as part of the European delegation accompanying the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Thomas Mayr-Harting. They planned to hold a bilateral meeting then. Its goal is a detailed acquaintance of the Swedish diplomat with the existing situation in the Moldovan-Pridnestrovian negotiations, the current agenda and position of the Pridnestrovian side. Another important task facing the foreign ambassador is the preparation of the upcoming visit to Pridnestrovie of Swedish Foreign Minister Ann Linde, which currently chairs the OSCE.

Vadim Krasnoselsky noted that he expects the activity and effectiveness of the Swedish presidency. He emphasized the readiness of Tiraspol for a productive discussion and the transparency of the position of the Pridnestrovian side on all issues of the negotiation agenda. Discussing the problems of restricting the freedom of movement of Pridnestrovian citizens, the President noted that he considers discriminatory, and therefore unacceptable, a selective approach to issues related to the participation of all categories of PMR transport in international auto traffic.

The interlocutors discussed in detail all aspects of mutual interest, exchanged views and proposals, outlined a plan for the upcoming meeting with the OSCE Chairman-in-Office and subsequent events, which are envisaged within the framework of the "Permanent Conference ..." format.
