Vadim Krasnoselsky met with Izabela Sylwia Hartmann, Acting Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova, at the presidential executive office. The ambassador is concluding her diplomatic tenure, so today's dialogue served as a kind of summary of the cooperation. The Head of the Mission was accompanied by advisers on political and military-political issues. The PMR President invited Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev to the discussion from the Pridnestrovian side.
Vadim Krasnoselsky thanked Ms. Hartmann for her efforts to assist in resolving the historically difficult Moldovan-Pridnestrovian relations, but also noted that there has been no progress so far. The PMR President emphasized his intention to continue discussing pressing issues, the number and severity of which are only growing. Vadim Krasnoselsky is confident that this escalation is due to the absence of a full-fledged negotiation process since 2019. "What is called a negotiation process today 1+1 contacts and so on is not a negotiation process; it is simply an imitation of meetings that have no practical results. All proposals coming from the Pridnestrovian side have been completely ignored by the Moldovan side. Moldova is deliberately exploiting the lack of a normal negotiation format to commit unilateral actions against Pridnestrovie. I would like to draw the attention of all participants in the '5+2' format, which de jure still exists, that there will be no progress without a negotiation process with Pridnestrovie. We consider any pressure on us to be absolutely destructive and directed against the interests of the Pridnestrovian people. In any case, we have not lost hope and will do everything in our power to resume the negotiation process, doing everything in our power", Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized, calling on the OSCE to continue its efforts. According to Silvia Hartmann, she is very grateful for the frank communication during the meetings and have great respect for cooperation. She thanked both sides for today's meeting and collaboration.
Despite this being the final meeting between the two sides, it was conducted in a businesslike manner, with discussions of current issues on the negotiating agenda.
