The President met with the leadership of the legislature of the republic. The communication of the PMR President with the Presidium members of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic took place at the speaker's office. The state of affairs in the republic and questions of foreign policy was discussed. The interlocutors addressed Vadim Krasnoselsky with questions of interest to them as legislators and representatives of the Pridnestrovian people. They outlined work plans in various spheres, represented by the heads of parliamentary committees.
Chairman of the Supreme Council Alexander Korshunov informed the President about the round table meeting scheduled for today on the topic “Inter-parliamentary dialogue for the sake of maintaining peace and stability on the banks of the Dniester”. The discussion event will be held by the Committee on International Affairs of the Federation Council. An agreement to organize a round table was reached at the beginning of this year in the course of the visit of delegation of Pridnestrovian parliamentarians to Moscow. The format of the discussion is a videoconference. The parties intend to substantively discuss the current situation, the course of the negotiation process, issues of ensuring peace and security, measures to protect the rights and interests of Russian citizens and compatriots in Pridnestrovie. The participants aim to jointly develop practical mechanisms for enhancing bilateral Pridnestrovian-Russian cooperation, including taking into account the provisions of the new Russian Foreign Policy Concept.
Among the Russian speakers announced by the organizers are Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Foreign Affairs Grigory Karasin, his deputy Farit Mukhametshin, public person, lawyer Alexander Brod and others. The Head of the legislative branch of power of the republic Alexander Korshunov, Vice speaker Galina Antyufeeva and the Supreme Council Deputy Andrey Safonov, representing the relevant parliamentary commission, will make presentations from the Pridnestrovian side. The position of Pridnestrovie on topical issues of foreign policy will be presented in the course of the videoconference by the PMR Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev.
The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky noted the importance of the upcoming discussion in general and the work aimed at informing the international community about the real state of affairs in Pridnestrovie and the impact of events taking place abroad on the republic.
