The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky held a working meeting with the Archbishop of Tiraspol and Dubossary Sawa on the eve of Easter holidays. The format of the services was discussed taking into account the ongoing pandemic. The President emphasized that an option is needed that will allow the implementation of Orthodox traditions and at the same time prevent the massive spread of coronavirus. It seems optimal to hold services in the open air - in churchyards. The night services and the traditional ceremonies accompanying will be compressed as much as possible so that the parishioners do not feel discomfort from a long stay in the still fresh night air, Vladyka Sawa noted. He informed the President that the majority of clergymen take the situation with understanding, realizing their responsibility for the life and health of citizens. Forced restrictions and a special form of holding festive services are to protect both parishioners and clergymen, Vadim Krasnoselsky recalled.
The interlocutors discussed all aspects related to the upcoming Easter days in detail. The final decision will be announced in the course of the meeting of the Operational Headquarters under the President on Thursday.
