Vadim Krasnoselsky held Briefing at the Russia Today International News Agency

The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky answered Russian journalists’ questions at the end of his visit to Moscow. The conversation took place at the press center of the Russia Today media group. The briefing, organized as a video conference, was broadcast live. Questions were asked by interlocutors from Russia and other countries, including Japan. The PMR President was asked about the current visit to the Russian capital, cooperation with Russia, relations with Moldova, the work of the “5 + 2” format, the transport blockade and the “lei” problem faced by the Pridnestrovian enterprises. Speaking about the latter, Vadim Krasnoselsky noted: “We are witnessing a completely new blockade in fact – the banking one, which is part of the economic blockade of Pridnestrovie. There is a refusal to register the accounts of our economic agents on the territory of Moldova, moreover, it is unreasonable, or the accounts are simply closed without any reason and written notifications. Even such a large and significant enterprise for the economy as Moldavian Metallurgical Plant has problems in this area".

The President cited the example of Moldavian GRES: “It supplies electricity to Moldova and all payments are in lei, but Moldova refuses to open accounts for conversion. The owner of the GRES "Inter RAO Unified Energy System of Russia" must receive dividends, the station must be repaired, but this cannot be done in lei. We are forced to sell GRES currency in order to maintain its potential”.

Journalists asked about the fight against coronavirus, football, tourism development.
