The PMR President, accompanied by the Head of the Tiraspol administration, arrived with a working inspection in the center of the capital. The improvement of the Catherine Park is in full swing there, the grand opening of which is scheduled for September 1 of this year. The implementation of the largest infrastructure project began in 2018. The main work is at the final stage now. The area of the park complex is almost two dozen hectares. The recreational area has been designed to attract visitors of different ages and interests. The elements of the existing infrastructure have been reconstructed and completely new facilities have been created. Vadim Krasnoselsky and Oleg Dovgopol stopped at the so-called old tribune. It has been noticeably changed. A significant symbolic element that has appeared here recently is the niche with the Poklonniy cross. The interlocutors said that during the reconstruction of the base of the tribune, the builders found fragments of the former retaining wall of an ancient temple in the name of the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos, destroyed in the godless years. Now historical justice has been restored: candles can be lit at the Cross of the Worship as a symbol of faith and enduring memory.
Vadim Krasnoselsky visited the future exhibition hall. The hall is almost ready. The first planned exposition - “The Republic created by the people - will be framed for the opening of the park, and will be dedicated to the history of Pridnestrovie.
The President inspected almost the entire park. He paid special attention to the sports sector. A green lawn is being laid there. Vadim Krasnoselsky considers that the area set aside for outdoor activities and sports is a very important component of the park created for people. Its improvement will continue after the park opening, taking into consideration the requests of residents of Tiraspol.
The President walked along the Tiraspol fortress, or rather, its miniature copy. The creators of the park assign this object an important role not only from an architectural, infrastructural and entertainment point of view, but also as an educational element that will allow visitors to familiarize themselves with the history of the city on the Dniester.
