SPIEF-2019 is a discussion platform that brings together hundreds of people. Representatives of state authorities and the Government, business community, scientific community, public associations of Pridnestrovie and abroad gathered to share information on economic and investment potential of the republic, exchange experiences, voice proposals, and conclude agreements. The forum has been held in the republic for the seventh time. It was first held in 2009. Since 2016, the event becomes an annual event and is held under the auspices of the PMR Government. Over the years, not only the status of the forum has grown, but also the level of its organization, significance, effectiveness. The geography of participants is also expanding. The SPIEF-2019 brought together representatives of Pridnestrovie, Moldova, Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Poland, Romania, Austria, Israel, France, Germany, Italy, the United States under its wing – totally from 22 countries. The VII Pridnestrovian International Investment Economic Forum was held at the Tiraspol cinema and concert complex, the cinema halls of which were transformed for the time into plenary rooms and discussion sections. The forum will last two days. Work will be conducted in parallel in all halls. The topics of the meetings are the most diverse: the potential of Pridnestrovie in terms of developing trade and economic relations with the CIS and EU countries, the introduction of modern technologies in business processes, tourist trends and their application in the PMR, investments in IT technologies, training of specialists in demand to balance between supply and demand in the labor market, the interaction of government and business as the basis of socio-economic growth, youth policy, the environment and much more.
The President of Pridnestrovie attended the opening of the VII Pridnestrovian International Investment Economic Forum. Welcoming the participants, Vadim Krasnoselsky noted that Pridnestrovie, holding such a large-scale event, from year to year demonstrates openness and readiness for constructive cooperation to the world. Its goal is to show the world the true Pridnestrovie, dispel old myths, introduce the Pridnestrovian people, history, culture, traditions, tell about the economic opportunities of the republic, and demonstrate investment attractiveness. The PMR President emphasized that the export-oriented republic is in contact with 90 countries of the world, which confirms the interest of the international community in mutually beneficial cooperation. Starting from 2017, declared the Year of Entrepreneurship, the state and business have been conducting dialogue on the principles of partnership, measures are being taken to improve the investment image of the republic, including the adoption of the law "On State Support of Investment Activities" and the creation of the Investment and Development Agency. For the first time since 2012, positive dynamics of investment in the economy of Pridnestrovie was recorded.
Vadim Krasnoselsky said that Pridnestrovie is interesting for foreign business partners. The republic’s enterprises produce quality and competitive products - electricity, machinery, metal products, cement, textiles, clothes and shoes, agricultural and wine-cognac products, and much more. Work in the tourist direction was intensified. At the same time, Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized that a serious problem today is the lack of awareness of the world community about the possibilities of Pridnestrovie in the industrial sector, agribusiness, and tourism.
A presidential instruction was voiced to the Government of the PMR from the tribune of the SPIEF-2019: to create the section “Economic proposals of Pridnestrovie” at the platform of the existing investment portal. Detailed information about all export-oriented enterprises of the republic and their products will be accumulated here.
“We offer business without politics and corruption,” the PMR President emphasized, referring to existing and potential investors. “It is within our power to make Pridnestrovie more beautiful and more comfortable,” summed up Vadim Krasnoselsky, addressing this message to his compatriots.
Vadim Krasnoselsky wished the participants, guests and organizers of the investment forum 2019 successful work and a fruitful dialogue. “Love Pridnestrovie, as we love Pridnestrovie, and come to us,” the PMR President urged at the end of his speech.
