Participants of the official flower-laying ceremony went after the ceremony to the flagpole installed on the main square of the Pridnestrovian capital at the Tiraspol Memorial of Glory on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of the victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War. A significant tradition of celebrating May 9 is the Banner of Victory rising. A copy of the canvas hoisted in 1945 over the Reichstag was handed over to Pridnestrovians in May 2014. Since then, the symbol of the people's feat, the triumph of goodness and victory over fascism rises into the peaceful Tiraspol sky to the sounds of the Soviet anthem every year on May 9. The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky took part in the solemn ceremony of raising the Banner of Victory.
