An extended meeting of the Military Collegium was held. The Ministry of Defense summed up the results of the year. The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, the PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky, Chairman of the Supreme Council of the PMR Alexander Korshunov, First President of the PMR Igor Smirnov, heads of the republic's law enforcement ministries and departments were among the participants.
The main report on the results of the service activities of the PMR Armed Forces for 2024 was delivered by the Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Oleg Obruchkov. He informed about combat and physical training, the state of weapons and equipment, logistics, military-patriotic education, announced qualitative and quantitative indicators in the areas, and conducted a comparative analysis of the data. The introduction of new forms and methods of organizing and conducting classes, taking into account the peculiarities of modern combat and the latest digital technologies, was noted. The servicemen master the tactics of actions in small infantry groups, special attention is paid to their interaction with artillery units. An important area is tactical medicine: providing self- and mutual assistance. The Minister considers that one of the effective ways to improve the level of professional training is the participation of servicemen in various types of intra-army and interdepartmental competitions. The speaker particularly highlighted "Defender-2024" and "Master of Artillery Fire". These competitions of military professional skills were organized in the reporting year in an updated format. The head of the defense department spoke about the retraining of reserve military personnel and the training of future officers – cadets and students of the Military Institute, emphasizing that the training is focused on practice and takes place, including in field conditions. Informing about the activities of the Republican sports public organization "Army Sports Club", Oleg Obruchkov recalled the achievements of the athletes of the Ministry of Defense in 2024. He mentioned the victories and the new track record in the relay races for Victory Day and the anniversary of the liberation of Tiraspol, and said that the "SKA-Armeets" football club became the winner of the National Championship of Moldova in mini-football for the first time and won the "golden double" in the championship and the Cup of Pridnestrovie in football. The performances of the representatives of the Army Sports Club in rowing, swimming, kickboxing, powerlifting, sambo and judo were successful. According to the results of the year, the army sports club has three world champions, three silver and bronze medalists of world championships, one champion of Russia, ten champions of Moldova and four champions of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.
The Minister of Defense devoted a special section of the report to the organization of the economic activities of the Armed Forces, talking about food and other types of provision for military personnel, construction and repair work at army infrastructure facilities. A fully equipped new building of the Military Institute was commissioned. Reconstructions and major repairs were carried out in a number of military units and institutions subordinate to the Ministry of Defense of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.
The speaker spoke about the department's interaction with citizens. The number of requests decreased by 31% compared to the previous year, according to the Minister.
A program for the improvement and preservation of monuments is being implemented together with the state administrations of towns and districts of the republic. It is planned to complete the major repairs and reconstruction of 23 memorials and monuments by the anniversary of the Great Victory.
Work is underway to perpetuate the memory of the defenders of the Fatherland of all times in digital format. The Ministry of Defense is forming a single database. The "Book of Memory" will contain information about those who died defending the Pridnestrovian land during the Great Patriotic War and in the 1990s, as well as information about the burial sites of heroes. Representatives of several ministries and departments worked on this large-scale project. As for the military-patriotic education of servicemen, cadets, young army cadets and pupils of Suvorov Military College, work in this direction is increasing. The young army movement of Pridnestrovie is developing, increasing its reach among young people. Interest in the "Young Patriot of Pridnestrovie" Republican military-sports game is also growing. One of the factors is the comfortable conditions for holding it. The competitions are held on the basis of reconstructed complex "The Dniester dawns". Oleg Obruchkov focused on the activities of the health resort. Health improvement was organized for 1976 children in the summer of 2024, including pupils of Suvorov Military College and children from the families of military personnel. 551 people received health resort recreation and treatment at "The Dniester dawns" throughout the year.
The participants exchanged opinions and proposals aimed at further improving the activities of the defense department at the end of the final information part of the meeting. Tasks were set. Instructions were given.
