Vadim Krasnoselsky met with Thomas Lenk

The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky received a delegation from the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, led by Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Thomas Lenk. Acting Head of the OSCE Mission to the Republic of Moldova Izabela Sylwia Hartmann was among those accompanying the European diplomat. The PMR Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev and Advisor to the PMR President Pavel Prokudin were invited to the discussion from the Pridnestrovian side.

Vadim Krasnoselsky recalled that the previous meeting with Thomas Lenk took place in December, noting that no noteworthy changes in the negotiation process had occurred since then: "There is no breakthrough in the negotiation process. There are no hints of such a breakthrough either. I want to repeat my position on the negotiation process. It is inevitable", the PMR President emphasized. Vadim Krasnoselsky stated that the "5+2" format is not actually working, despite the parties de jure indicating their participation. Vadim Krasnoselsky confirmed readiness of Pridnestrovie for any dialogue and full-fledged negotiations in all areas of mutual interest. However, the situation is such that the Moldovan side shows no interest in practical solutions to existing problems. Examples include cooperation in law enforcement and the environment. "All the signals I sent to the Moldovan side were ignored", Vadim Krasnoselsky stated. He emphasized that he considers the OSCE's role in maintaining dialogue, initiating productive interaction, and motivating the parties to actively participate.

Thomas Lenk noted in turn that he welcomed the news of the meeting of political representatives of Pridnestrovie and Moldova held in February after a long pause, as well as the holding of a number of working (expert) group meetings. He mentioned that two more meetings of relevant experts are being prepared. The diplomat emphasized that OSCE Chairman-in-Office Ignazio Cassis (Switzerland) is interested in resolving the conflict and intends to provide his full support.
