Meeting between Vadim Krasnoselsky and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Moldova Oleg Vasnetsov was held at the presidential executive office. The PMR Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev was invited to the conversation.
The PMR President welcoming the guest emphasized the importance of systemic interaction and maintaining working contacts. Vadim Krasnoselsky focused attention on the problematic aspects of Moldovan-Pridnestrovian relations that remain relevant, which fill the negotiation agenda. The PMR President emphasized at the same time, that Pridnestrovie insists on dialogue and maintaining the “5+2” format, maintaining its viability and using such working tools as meetings of expert (working) groups during the period of forced temporary idleness of the “Permanent Conference...” mechanism.
Vadim Krasnoselsky outlined economic, social, humanitarian, cultural, and peacekeeping issues that require an exchange of views and urgent solutions. He specially highlighted the topic of obtaining Russian citizenship by people living in Pridnestrovie.
Oleg Vasnetsov noted in turn, that he personally and the embassy as a whole are closely monitoring the trends in the negotiation process and are aimed at discussing and finding solutions to the identified problems, moreover, in a broad regional context. The ambassador stated that issues within the framework of the negotiation process between Pridnestrovie and Moldova are familiar, but there is little movement. He spoke about the new architecture of Eurasian security being built.
Vitaly Ignatiev informed the interlocutors during the discussion about the meeting held today with OSCE representatives, outlining what specific measures and practical steps were proposed to intensify the negotiation process and increase its effectiveness.
Vadim Krasnoselsky and Oleg Vasnetsov mentioned among other things the achievements of Pridnestrovian sportsmen. They talked about the victories of the Bendery rowing school sportsmen in the sports games of the BRICS countries taking place in Kazan, as well as the success of Dubossary tennis players at the recently completed World Games of Young Compatriots.
