Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Her Majesty the Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to the Republic of Moldova Steven Fisher led the delegation arrived in Tiraspol. The PMR President met with the foreign diplomats at his office. Welcoming the guests, Vadim Krasnoselsky noted that the republic is connected with the British embassy by long-standing relationships that are positive and productive. The PMR President noted that he respects the desire of the ambassador and his colleagues to personally get familiar with the situation in and around Pridnestrovie, to gain insight into the essence of the negotiation process with Moldova.
Steven Fisher, in turn, noted that the UK is still European country and as the OSCE member, it intends not only to closely monitor, but also to continue to participate in the negotiation format. According to the ambassador, the fundamental aspect for the kingdom is to ensure security on the continent.
The interlocutors discussed a wide range of issues related to both the activities of the “5 + 2” format and the course of the negotiation process, as well as with bilateral Pridnestrovian-British relations. Foreign diplomats are interested in the real situation in the economy of Pridnestrovie and the issue of respect for human rights. In addition, the meeting participants spoke about various kinds of humanitarian projects, in the implementation of which in the territory of Pridnestrovie the embassy of Great Britain and Northern Ireland was directly involved.
