Meeting between the PMR President and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe delegation was held in the negotiating hall of the presidential executive office. The visiting group was led by Thomas Lenk, Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office. The delegation included Izabela Sylwia Hartmann, Acting Head of the OSCE Mission to the Republic of Moldova. The PMR Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev and Advisor to the PMR President Pavel Prokudin joined the working discussion from the Pridnestrovian side.
Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized welcoming the guests the important role the OSCE plays in maintaining the negotiation process, developing it, and documenting its results. The PMR President noted that no breakthroughs have been recorded on any of the problematic areas in the current sluggish dialogue. The issues related to banking, the foreign economic activity of Pridnestrovian enterprises, unlawful taxation by Moldova, and difficulties in the energy sector have been pending for several years. Environmental issues are becoming particularly pressing. There is a need to establish cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of the two republics, but only the Pridnestrovian side has demonstrated a desire for cooperation at the moment, said Vadim Krasnoselsky. He emphasized that the primary objective and overarching goal of the negotiation process is ensuring peace and security. The PMR President spoke of the need to resume the "5+2" format and high-level dialogue ("1+1"). He recalled that the "Permanent Conference..." format was effectively nullified by Moldova, which offered nothing in return having destroyed an effective platform, confirming the conclusion that the parties' goals differ significantly. Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized that Pridnestrovie is focused on resolving pressing issues at the negotiating table and is counting on the OSCE's assistance: "We rely on your experience and your knowledge in unfreezing the negotiation process. Our actions are aimed exclusively at peace". If the OSCE Mission seeks peace, then you will find in me an ally you can always count on".
Thomas Lenk emphasized the value of organizing the meeting so soon after the parliamentary elections in the Republic of Moldova and during the formation of the leadership there, as this transitional moment offers the opportunity to look at the situation, the negotiation process, and the organization of cooperation from a new perspective.
The meeting participants expressed their readiness to discuss all issues on the negotiation agenda and their intention to thoroughly explore solutions to existing problems.
