Vadim Krasnoselsky, “Pridnestrovie will be recognized. Foreigners need to get used to pronounce true name"

Tourism development is a topic, raised by Vadim Krasnoselsky during working meeting with the Chairman of the PMR Government. The President spoke about significance of the developed program for tourism development in Pridnestrovie, noting that the time has come to take active steps to implement the measures outlined in the document. “What is important is not only and not so much the economic effect of the development of the tourism industry, as the image effect. Pridnestrovie must be popularized. This is necessary for the recognition of the republic. We are a successful modern state, and this should be demonstrated to the world community,” Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized.

In the near future, meeting on the implementation of the program for the development of tourism in Pridnestrovie will be held at the Presidential Executive Office. Representatives of the Government and the Supreme Council, specialists working in the tourism sector, members of public organizations will be invited to the dialogue. The President insists on the need to consolidate efforts to implement projects and plans aimed at breaking negative stereotypes about Pridnestrovie, attracting interest to the republic and forming positive attitude. The work should be diverse, says Vadim Krasnoselsky. It is important, for example, the correct perception of the name of the state. The variant “transnistria”, used in the West is unacceptable for Pridnestrovie, the President emphasized. “The term “transnistria” in relation to Pridnestrovie is invented by the Moldovan side. Initially it appeared during the Second World War, defining the left bank of the Dniester, occupied by the Romanians. It included Pridnestrovie and part of the Ukraine. We had our own tragedies, like all the Soviet Union. One of them is the shooting of about twenty thousand Jews in Dubossary. This is holocaust. For me personally, as a person who respects history, people, the term “transnistria” is a synonym for the word “holocaust”. This is the same occupational concept that is seen through fascism and Nazism. Its use as the name of our state is unacceptable and offensive. All should hear this. Communicating with colleagues, including Western diplomats, I recommend not to use the word “transnistria” in relation to Pridnestrovie. Pridnestrovie will be recognized. Foreigners need to get used to pronounce true name,” said Vadim Krasnoselsky.
