Ceremonial meeting dedicated to the 34th anniversary of the foundation of the PMR Ministry of Internal Affairs was held on the parade ground in front of the building of the Central Office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. The event was attended by the PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky. They recalled the history of the creation of the republic's law enforcement agencies, thanked veterans, congratulated current employees, honored the most distinguished, paid tribute to the memory of the deceased, laying flowers at the monument to law enforcement officers who gave their lives in the line of duty. 16 militia officers died in the early 90s, defending the freedom and independence of Pridnestrovie, 40 – in peacetime on duty.
It was stated in the course of the ceremonial meeting that today the Ministry of Internal Affairs is a large and multifunctional law enforcement agency that directly interacts with the population of the republic. The high level of social responsibility of the personnel was noted on the one hand, and the measures taken by the state to support militia officers and their families on the other hand: creating comfortable and safe conditions for service, sports and leisure, solving the housing issue. Modern approaches to organizing law enforcement activities were not ignored. Congratulating the personnel of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the PMR, Vadim Krasnoselsky drew attention to the circumstances in which the department was created, "I would like to remind you that the Central Office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic was created on March 5, 1991. The Soviet Union still officially existed at that time. It still existed, but there was no longer protection. There was no protection of the people, no protection of public order, public safety. The central government of Kishinev simply refused this to the Pridnestrovians. There were cases, there were many of them, when statements about murders, about other serious crimes from citizens of Pridnestrovie were simply not accepted on the territory of modern Moldova. All the people living here were outlawed. That was the case. Then, under enormous pressure from the Central Office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Moldova, and by and large from the Soviet Union, there were those who understood this. They are veterans now, but they were young people who took on the responsibility then, understanding that it was necessary to create a local militia force. I assure you, no one was thinking about such a scale at that time. They were simply thinking about basic protection then. Therefore, I speak with great gratitude about that time, of course, I thank the first ones – those who created the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the PMR". The President spoke about the current law enforcement system of the republic, emphasizing, that the Ministry of Internal Affairs today is a powerful functional structure that protects public order, ensures public safety, fights crime, and eliminates all kinds of emergency situations".
The PMR President emphasized that the basis for the effective operation of the system is people, the personnel of law enforcement agencies. The President said that he is proud of the Pridnestrovian militia officers, thanking them for their service and work.
Vadim Krasnoselsky presented the most distinguished with state awards and documents on conferring the honorary title of "Honored Employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic". The PMR President handed over to the State Traffic Inspectorate the keys to eleven new service cars, purchased on his instructions for the needs of the State Traffic Inspectorate.
Guests were shown the new cars at the end of the ceremonial part of the festive event. Patrol cars are equipped with mobile systems installed on the roofs of cars. This equipment is designed to identify violators of traffic rules, including speed limits, thereby ensuring road safety. The efficiency of patrol services will be enhanced by the number plate recognition function and the ability to identify a car – even on the move. The scanner of the complex automatically reads the license plate and compares it with the information stored in the database. If the vehicle is on the wanted list, the system will immediately notify the employees of the Road Patrol Service in the patrol car. The patrol cars are equipped with modern technologies at the insistence of the President and with his direct support for the project. The PMR President noted that the equipping of various units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic should be continued despite the economic difficulties.
