Vadim Krasnoselsky visited the reconstructed memorial in Bendery

Built six decades ago the Memorial of Military Glory on Heroes' Square is being renovated in Bendery. This is the first reconstruction in its history. The funds are being allocated from the capital investment fund. The work began this spring. The legendary ZiS-3 cannons were renovated by May 9, 2024. The major repairs should be completed before the anniversary Victory Day. The central part of the memorial is currently being worked on. The elements made of shell rock have become unusable. They are being cemented and then decorated with granite. The 14-meter obelisk will be renovated. Paths will be laid to the wall behind the monument, which holds the names of the fallen defenders of Bendery. The old bushes blocking the view and approach to this wall will be removed. This is the recommendation of Vadim Krasnoselsky, who visited the site today and discussed the plan for further work with the city leadership and contractors. It was decided that information and art panels telling about the Odessa and Jassy-Kishinev operations will be installed. The Bendery residents names, who died on other fronts of the Great Patriotic War must be immortalized in stone, the President reminded. The city authorities plan to provide audio accompaniment so that visitors to the memorial complex have the opportunity to draw information from several sources at once.
