The meeting of the PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky with the veterans of the Great Patriotic War was held in the House of official receptions. The event was held in the format of the tea conversation. The interlocutors of the President were Honorary Chairman of the Public Organization “Veterans of War, Labor and Armed Forces of the City of Tiraspol” Ivan Vasilyevich Nikolaev, Head of this organization Vladimir Vasilyevich Lebedev, WWII participants Vladimir Ivanovich Gromov, Alexey Ivanovich Zhdanov, Sergey Nikolaevich Zaitsev, Mikhail Vasilievich Kislitsky, Peter Pavlovich Lanovets, Peter Ivanovich Savelyev, Dmitry Nikitovich Sprinchan and Nikolai Alekseevich Shutkin.
Welcoming veterans, Vadim Krasnoselsky noted that it was a great honor and great pleasure for him to communicate with them. The President emphasized that he was ready to answer the questions of his interlocutors, but still hopes to be more a listener than a storyteller. “I was lucky: life was such that I had the opportunity to communicate a lot with veterans. Each conversation brought and gives joy and pleasure, I learned a lot from those who defended our country, who restored it from the post-war ruins. The main thing is that you teach to love, appreciate and preserve life,” said Vadim Krasnoselsky.
Veterans shared the memories of the war years, impressions of communication with the current youth and feelings about attempts to rehabilitate fascism and Nazism. They told, with what enthusiasm and attention the Pridnestrovian children listen to their stories - from kindergarten children to students. They noted with regret that their veteran colleagues in many cities of the world cannot afford to walk the streets in uniform decorated with orders and medals deserved in the hardest fights. They said they valued the position of the PMR President and his desire to preserve history in its true light. The President, noting that the Pridnestrovian people were brought up on the traditions of respect for the feat of the Soviet Soldier, emphasized: “You can take everything from a person except memory. It is inside. According to Vadim Krasnoselsky, "the fascists planned to raise Ivan, who does not remember the relationship, who would work for the Nazi master". The fact that they have failed and never will manage is confirmed by the thousands of marches of the Immortal regiment, the President considers. He said that his family proudly carries in hands portraits of his relatives, who defended the Motherland at different times. The President shared his family history, telling that his grandfather Vasily Ivanovich Krasnoselsky, who was drafted into the Red Army in January 1944, liberated Sevastopol, was seriously wounded. The hero was considered dead, and his name was added to the sad list. And he not only survived in that battle, but also reached Austria in combat formation by Victorious May.
