The introduction of a special legal regime - the state of emergency - on the territory of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic is due to the declaration by the World Health Organization of the new coronavirus COVID-19 as a pandemic and is due to the need for maximum protection of the country's population from its possible spread. The corresponding decision was made by the PMR President following the results of an expanded meeting of the Operational Headquarters on the prevention of the spread of viral infection. Decree of the President of PMR No. 98 of March 16, 2020 was issued today at 18.15. This means that in accordance with the PMR Constitution, the regime will begin to operate after midnight (6 hours after publication). According to the decree, state of emergency was introduced in Pridnestrovie for a period of 19 days. The document contains a list of measures required to be implemented until April 5 of the current year.
The execution of the decree will be under the personal control of the PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky.
