Vadim Krasnoselsky thanked everyone involved in the creation of the Unknown Soldier monument and the renovation of the Memorial Complex in Tiraspol

The PMR President visited the capital's Memorial of Glory today. Reconstruction is underway there. The complex is expanding. The perimeter remains the same – the content is changing. On the instructions of the President, an exposition was set up here telling about the participation of Tiraspol residents in the Great Patriotic War. The stone slabs contain thematic murals and information, including the names of 1340 Tiraspol residents who died on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War. The central element is a memorial wall, at the base of which is a monument to the Unknown Soldier. It was made at the Elektromash plant of the capital. Specialists are completing the installation. The director of the enterprise Vladimir Trandasir told Vadim Krasnoselsky that the one and a half ton composition is made of 12 segments, the joints of which are almost impossible to detect. The monument is a noble black color. It has 12 layers of coating – 6 layers of primer and 6 layers of paint. The manufacturers assure that it will not need updating for at least a decade. A place has been prepared behind the monument for the reburial of the remains of a Soviet soldier whose name is unknown. That is, it will not just be a monument to the Unknown Soldier, but a real grave of a participant in the Great Patriotic War. The reburial ceremony and the opening of the monument are scheduled for the 11th of April. The President discussed with the head of the administration of Tiraspol Ilona Tyuryaeva the details of organizing the upcoming significant event. They talked about the event scheduled for the 6th of May, which the Tiraspol-Dubossary diocese is preparing to hold at the Memorial of Glory.

Vadim Krasnoselsky drew attention in the course of the inspection to the lack of ramps on the memorial steps. It was ordered to fill sections of the appropriate width so that wheelchair users can freely visit the memorial complex and participate in memorial ceremonies.
