Vadim Nikolayevich, 78 years of Victory, we see history being rewritten right now. You love history. Tell us, please, is there any vaccine, a recipe so that history is not rewritten and this day is honored, as we honor it in Pridnestrovie?
Vadim Krasnoselsky, the PMR President:
To be honest, as for the vaccine, I don't know. It all depends on upbringing, on personal perception of this Victory. Anyone who feels this day as victory, who feels the tragedy of the Soviet people, the entire multinational people, who thanks the veterans of the Great Patriotic War, veterans of the armed forces, who remembers the feat of the home front workers, the children of the war, does not need the vaccine. The vaccine is needed by those who under the false slogans of reconciliation, consent, are trying to erase the feat of our Soviet people from this history. That's what they need the vaccine for. You know, I'm not a supporter of vaccines. What is the vaccine? Is this war, death? It is necessary to try on and forgive, of course. I already said that in fact those states of Europe that were in the axis powers of fascist Germany, they were victims. They were enslaved by the fascist-Nazi ideology. World War II has a difference from all other wars that have been in history, when people fight each other. It happened before, and it does today, unfortunately. Fascist Germany made Europe a testing ground for death then, entire factories of death, such as Buchenwald, Auschwitz. They just physically destroyed people. Do you understand? People went to work to burn and suffocate people in the gas chamber, to destroy and shoot millions of people. These are factories of death. With regards to the war, it is possible to forgive and reconcile, of course, but as regards Nazism and fascism, one simply cannot reconcile with the mass extermination of people. Do you understand? Otherwise, this vaccine will appear again, unfortunately. The vaccine is a terrible thing, really. What is the vaccine? One has to be exposed to it in the past. I don’t want to be exposed to either fascism or Nazism. Therefore, those people who forget the feat of the Soviet people, the Soviet soldier, the Soviet armed forces, they do not know what they are doing. They are trying to rewrite history, by and large they are creating all the conditions for it to be returned. That fear of fascism and that mass death of people in this case will simply grow in tradition.
Vadim Nikolayevich, what kind of holiday is Victory Day is for you personally, who are the heroes in your family?
Vadim Krasnoselsky, the PMR President:
Everyone fought, they are all heroes. All my grandfathers fought. The most amazing thing is that my grandfathers, four grandfathers fought (there were four brothers), they all returned from the war. Everyone has their own tragic history. Everything was not easy, of course, but they returned – with injuries. No one died, they fought from 1941, 1942 and 1943.
To come and bow to these people, to grandfathers, to the entire Soviet people is a duty.
You know, I have resentment in my heart for the fact that a bunch of traitors simply allowed this, destroyed what our grandfathers and great-grandfathers defended at such a price, preserving the Soviet Union. It was all destroyed by traitors. They destroyed the Soviet Union. What Hitler and his allies could not do, it was done by a number of scoundrels and traitors. This also needs to be remembered. Please, think about what might happen if there is betrayal. To resist this possibility. I think veterans are very hurt by what they see today: when brother goes against brother, veterans are friends, and their grandchildren and great-grandchildren shoot at each other. This is truly a horror, these are the consequences of what happened in the early 1990s, with the collapse of the Soviet Union. I perceive the collapse of the Soviet Union as a tragedy, just like the war itself. It is necessary to remember, to know, to resist such betrayal.
There will be a live stream on mass graves today, on all mass graves that are in Pridnestrovie, people will lay flowers from a pure heart, disinterestedly. This is the point. We must remember.
Vadim Nikolayevich, how do you assess the situation around Pridnestrovie? There were many reports in the media that a Ukrainian group was on the border with Pridnestrovie, that something might start on May 9. How can you comment on this? Do you confirm or don't confirm?
Vadim Krasnoselsky, the PMR President:
Our situation is tense, to say the least. We are monitoring the situation, of course. You can be afraid to a greater extent of the usual provocations. This may take place. Our law enforcement structures are at the combat post, they monitor, they have operational information, they have the technical capabilities to prevent possible terrorist attacks, possible provocations. Nevertheless, one must be vigilant in any case, take care of you, and take care of your family and friends.
Dear Pridnestrovians, dear friends. This bright holiday day let us sincerely congratulate on behalf of all the Pridnestrovian people our veterans, veterans of the Great Patriotic War, home front workers, children of the war, all those who survived that difficult time, and those who defended and truly won. Happy holiday!
