Informing the PMR President about the activities of the Official Representative Office of Pridnestrovie in Moscow, Leonid Manakov said that about eight hundred compatriots came here during eight months of work. According to Leonid Manakov, appeals are received almost daily. As for official reception days, these are Tuesday and Thursday. The problems and issues that lead citizens to the Representative Office are diverse, but the main applications are related to obtaining Russian citizenship (60%). Its absence makes presence of Pridnestrovians, who received passports of Moldova and Ukraine at one time, difficult on the territory of Russia. The most problematic aspects are the need to cross the border every three months and the requirements associated with the confirmation of various kinds of documents. There are also many difficulties with obtaining medical care: the Pridnestrovian Russians' health insurance policies do not have a monetary content, since the mechanism for making obligatory payments by them has not been approved at the legislative level.
Options for solving these problems are discussed with experts - lawyers, scientists, parliamentarians, political and public figures, Leonid Manakov told Vadim Krasnoselsky. It is planned to formulate a package of actual proposals on protecting and ensuring the observance of the constitutional rights of Pridnestrovian Russians by October, in order to send to the Council of the Federation and the State Duma for consideration.
People come to the Pridnestrovian Representative Office not only with requests, but also with offers for various kinds of assistance, various initiatives and proposals, Leonid Manakov emphasized.
Vadim Krasnoselsky highly appreciated the activities of the Representative Office, the expediency of opening of which was confirmed by attendance. Speaking about the priority areas of work, the President emphasized that the fundamental aspects are the support of compatriots, their unification, as well as informing about the real situation in Pridnestrovie - both the Pridnestrovians themselves temporarily outside their homeland, and the international community.
As for the problems that bring PMR citizens to the Representative Office, all these problems are within the field of view of the leadership of the republic and are solved both within the state and at Russian sites, Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized, noting that his current visit to the Russian capital is also aimed at solving urgent issues for Pridnestrovie.
