A ceremonial meeting and a festive state concert dedicated to the 36th anniversary of the founding of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic were held in the Grand Hall of the Palace of the Republic. The official part was preceded by a screening of a film about Pridnestrovie. Viewers were treated to a forty-minute video journey through time and space, through the cities and districts of the republic, as well as through the history and present of the Pridnestrovian people and the 36-year-old country.
The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky addressed the guests gathered in the hall and through them all Pridnestrovians. Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized that a difficult path has been traveled, from the citizens' desire to live on their land and speak their native languages to the construction and effective functioning of a fully functioning state with all the trappings of power, state mechanisms, and instruments for ensuring peace, security, socioeconomic development, labor, education, and public health. "We've succeeded – that's a fact", the President stated. He recalled the geopolitical chaos that preceded the republic's creation, during the collapse of the formerly unified country. "There were people in Pridnestrovie, who took responsibility for the fate of the people, for the fate of Pridnestrovie," Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized, thanking the republic's founders for their courageous choice and steadfastness in defending the interests of the Pridnestrovian people. The President acknowledged the heroism of its defenders. A moment of silence was observed in memory of the fallen. "Life is short. Heroism is immortal. Memory is eternal", the PMR President said.
Vadim Krasnoselsky considers interethnic harmony and peace in Pridnestrovie to be the fundamental achievements of the Pridnestrovian people today. He thanked the Russian leadership for its ongoing peacekeeping mission. The President emphasized that it is the independence of Pridnestrovie that guarantees its citizens peace, security, and respect for rights and freedoms. The President recalled three conceptual aspects of building a Pridnestrovian state: political stability, economic self-sufficiency, and social justice. These are aimed at achieving a state vision based on the recognition of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, the further strengthening of the "Pridnestrovian people" community with respect for history, languages, traditions, and culture, and the construction of a socially oriented state with a market economy.
