Pridnestrovie is a thin strip on the map (40 kilometers wide), which stretches for 200 kilometers along the left bank of the Dniester, bordering Ukraine and Moldova. The UN member states do not recognize the sovereignty of Pridnestrovie. De jure it is an uncontrolled territory of Moldova, de facto - an independent state with its own power, economy, social institutions, passports and money... These days Pridnestrovie is celebrating the 30th anniversary of existence. The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky told "The Parlamentskaya Gazeta" about life of the republic today - this is a preface by the author of the material of Dmitry Olishevsky, to an interview that was published on the day of the celebration of the anniversary of Pridnestrovian statehood.
