Traditional meeting of WWII veterans and members of veteran organizations was organized on May 9 in the center of the Pridnestrovian capital. The event, commonly referred to as the Zemlyanka (Dugout), was officially titled "Fighters Remember the Past Days". The President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Vadim Krasnoselsky came to congratulate the participants.
The Dugout is an event that takes place at the festive table. Participants share memories and congratulations. The main characters of today and the main interlocutors of the President are veterans: participants in the hostilities of the Great Patriotic War: Vladimir Ivanovich Gromov, Alexei Ivanovich Zhdanov and Konstantin Ivanovich Puganov, prisoner of fascist concentration camps Tatyana Efimovna Poyato and Lyudmila Grigoryevna Bozhonka born in camp captivity, as well as veteran of the Armed Forces Valery Ivanovich Glazkov .
Creative teams of Tiraspol have prepared a concert program for the veterans and the Dugout participants. The artists will perform at various venues in Tiraspol during the day. Festive events are held throughout the country.
