Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized its importance. “The beginning of the year, difficult situation is not only around Pridnestrovie and Moldova, but also in the whole world. I would like to discuss the basic points that relate to regional security, peacekeeping, the negotiation process, and relations between Pridnestrovie and Russia. I would like to focus on a topical issue – the work of the consular service point," said Vadim Krasnoselsky. He recalled that more than 220000 Russian citizens live in Pridnestrovie, and stated that a number of applicants waiting for their turn to resolve paperwork issues has now increased to 14000 people.

Andrei Rudenko emphasized in turn that it was important for him to have the opportunity to get acquainted with the situation on the spot. He noted that it was his first visit to Pridnestrovie, although he was well acquainted with the problems of the republic. The diplomat said that he visited the consular service point in Tiraspol before meeting with Vadim Krasnoselsky. “We met regularly in Moscow and maintained a continuous dialogue on all issues. It is important to see everything with one's own eyes, to learn about the existing problems, to talk about the main areas of cooperation between Russia and Pridnestrovie in those areas that allow us to more successfully solve the tasks that we face, to talk about the development of cultural and humanitarian ties among other things. In addition, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Viktorovich Lavrov instructed me to continue the exchange of views on ways to resolve the Pridnestrovian problem. We know that there was stagnation last year unfortunately and it is important that we find a way to overcome the stalling of this process by common efforts and reach the resumption of the systematic work of the 5 + 2 format as a whole and through individual working groups. I have already managed to visit the point of consular service. I was introduced to the problems that exist. These are technical issues that have become more complicated during the pandemic. We will solve it. You know the position of the ministry, Sergei Viktorovich Lavrov spoke about this in detail, responding to the requests of deputies in the State Duma. A decision was made to provide assistance in expanding the staff of technical staff”, Andrey Rudenko said.

The interlocutors expressed confidence that the meeting would serve to solve existing problems and strengthen traditional Pridnestrovian-Russian ties.
