Military parade dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic was held in Tiraspol

Pridnestrovie is celebrating its 35th anniversary of statehood with a military parade. The event is not only significant, but also long-awaited after a break due to special circumstances. The venue is the capital's main square, which bears the name of the great Russian commander Alexander Vasilyevich Suvorov. The bronze Generalissimo, riding a war horse, seems to be receiving a parade of several generations of descendants of Suvorov's musketeers. Empress Catherine II majestically watches the movement of the parade squads from the Dniester. A monument to her was erected in the center of Tiraspol exactly five years ago on the eve of the 30th anniversary of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.

The republic's leadership decided to hold the event this time without a demonstration of equipment and weapons. Commander-in-Chief of the PMR Armed Forces Vadim Krasnoselsky and Pridnestrovians greet the personnel of the Pridnestrovian security agencies.

About a thousand people took part in the military parade on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the formation of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic: active servicemen, future defenders, participants in the 1992 hostilities. Those who three decades ago stood up with weapons in their hands to defend the young republic are marching in a separate box for the first time today. The military parade dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the republic is a demonstration of not only the invincible strength of the Pridnestrovian army, but also the unbreakable connection between generations.

The military parade was received by the Minister of Defense of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, Lieutenant General Oleg Obruchkov. The parade was commanded by the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Pavel Mikhailov. The head of the defense department traditionally made a tour of the parade units, congratulated the participants on the anniversary of the republic and reported to the Commander-in-Chief on the readiness for the parade. The President addressed its participants with a welcoming and congratulatory speech.
