Flower-laying ceremony at the Glory Memorial in the capital is an obligatory component of the celebrations dedicated to the Victory Day of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. The President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Vadim Krasnoselsky lowered the presidential wreath to the Eternal Flame – a symbol of the unfading memory of the millions of dead, of the soldiers and officers who took part in more than 250 defensive and offensive operations on four dozen fronts during the four years of the war on behalf of the entire Pridnestrovian people and every descendant who honors the feat defenders who saved the world from the dominance of fascism, on the day of the 77th anniversary of the Great Victory. The living flowers were placed today on the memorial plates are grown on the peaceful Pridnestrovian land, the very one that in the last century raised and educated 40000 patriotic defenders who went to the front. There are 12 Heroes of the Soviet Union among them. They were called by name.
Among the participants of today's solemn ceremony are the heads of state authorities and administration, republican and city structures, departments, institutions, organizations, military personnel, clergy, residents and guests of the Pridnestrovian capital. Flowers were lowered not only to the graves of the defenders who fell defending the Motherland during the Second World War, but to the stone slabs, under which 11 heroes who gave their lives for peace in the Pridnestrovian land in 1992 are laid to rest. Multi-colored scattering – at the pedestals of the monuments to the Defender of Pridnestrovie, the Grieving Mother, the Warrior-Internationalist and at the memorial wall erected in memory of the liquidators of the consequences of the Chernobyl tragedy.
The official ceremony ended with the solemn march of a company of the Guard of Honor of the Ministry of Defense of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.
