Deputy Chairman of the Management Committee of Gazprom Valery Golubev led the delegation that arrived in Pridnestrovie on a working visit. Welcoming the guests, the PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky noted the importance of the uninterrupted functioning of the gas transmission system and the value of the dialogue with representatives of the concern: the meetings are regular and systemic, which makes the cooperation fruitful.
The parties discussed issues, related to the provision of the Pridnestrovian market with natural gas and organization of its transit in the context of updating a range of legislative norms. Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized, “Any kind of decisions must be made taking into account the interests of Pridnestrovians - the bearers of the sovereignty of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic”. He called energy independence an important component of statehood, self-sufficiency and independence of the country. Valery Golubev, fully sharing this position, noted that in order to carry out the tasks, faced by Gazprom within the legal framework, serious work remains to be done, including protection the interests of Pridnestrovian residents. Taking timely action requires the completion of contractual obligations. “In case of any changes, the risks for Pridnestrovie should not just be minimized, but completely eliminated,” said the deputy chairman of the board of Gazprom.
The officials exchanged views on the current state of affairs in the gas sector, current problems and their solutions. We talked about the prospects for the development of cooperation between Pridnestrovie and Gazprom. The meeting participants agreed to continue constructive interaction.
