A concert of sacred music took place in the great hall of the Palace of the Republic. The creative evening is dedicated to two significant dates – the quarter-century anniversary of the Tiraspol-Dubossary diocese and the 225th anniversary of the founding of the Church of the Intercession in the city of Tiraspol. The event was organized with the blessing of Archbishop Sawa. The PMR President with his wife was among the guests.
Concert numbers were performed by the Pridnestrovian State Choir under the direction of People's Artist of the PMR Tatyana Tverdokhleb and the State Symphony Orchestra of the PMR, led by People's Artist of the PMR Gregory Moseyko.
The Administrator of the Tiraspol-Dubossary Diocese, Archbishop Sawa, addressed the participants of the festive musical event – artists and spectators –with a welcoming speech. The Krasnoselsky spouses who attended the concert expressed gratitude with flowers to the artists for their creativity filled with deep spiritual content.
The Orthodox atmosphere reigned not only on stage, but also in the foyer of the Palace of the Republic. The works of Archpriest George Skobil were presented here – icons embroidered with beads and stones. This is the author’s second personal exhibition. He created over a hundred paintings depicting saints and conveying biblical stories. Many of the author’s works are kept in churches in Pridnestrovie and other countries.
The exhibition telling about the churches of the republic did not go unnoticed by the guests. The exhibition presents a dozen and a half paintings. The paintings are the work of both famous Pridnestrovian masters and little-known authors, including students of the art college and the Pridnestrovian State Institute of Arts. The idea to assemble the collection of paintings depicting all Pridnestrovian churches belongs to Archbishop Sawa. The diocese already has about a hundred such works. The pieces of art are not hidden in storage facilities, but are exhibited in cities and villages of the republic.
