The first bells rang today in all educational institutions of Pridnestrovie, announcing the beginning of the school year. Solemn assembly meetings and traditional for September 1 peace lessons are held in schools, lyceums, gymnasiums. Knowledge Day is a holiday not only for schoolchildren, but also for their parents and teachers. The Krasnoselskys are back at school today, more precisely at Bendery gymnasium No. 1, as guests of honor, former graduates and parents of the sixth grader.
The gymnasium began its history as school No. 3 in 1950, and it is one of the leading educational institutions of the republic today, it was noted during the solemn line dedicated to the Day of Knowledge. The gymnasium has two dozen classes, about five hundred students, five departments and two methodological associations. The first school bell rang here today for sixty first graders. The gymnasium met them with infrastructural new things. The dining room, assembly and sports halls have been repaired in the educational institution, the school yard has been landscaped, work is underway to equip the open sports sector.
Addressing the participants of the ceremony, the PMR President noted that he was glad to return to his native school again and again. Vadim Krasnoselsky assured the children that school years are the best time, the memories of which a person carries through his whole life. The President reminded teachers and parents that it is important not only to give children knowledge, but to preserve their health and shape their personality. Parents greeted with applause the news that the Pridnestrovian school system now involves a five-day mode of the educational process.
The PMR President thanked the teachers for their work, noting their high professionalism.
The director of the gymnasium, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Honored Worker of the PMR Olga Podgornaya and her most distinguished colleagues were awarded state awards and documents on conferring honorary titles.
The Krasnoselskys visited the renovated premises at the end of the ceremony. The President drew attention to the need to install air conditioning in the assembly hall. He asked about updated sports equipment in the gym. The dining room or as it is commonly called in the gymnasium the dining space has also been renovated. It is designed for 250 people. Traditionally, about 90 receiving aid children have lunch, 120 pupils in grades 1-3 attending extended day groups, and about fifty more schoolchildren whose parents pay for their meals.
The guests visited the 32nd study room. It was here that the future presidential couple once sat at the third desk by the window. The peace lesson, which was held in the 6th "B" form, was visited. The youngest daughter of Svetlana and Vadim Krasnoselsky Among is among the pupils.
