Pridnestrovian women gave lives, and doctors saved them 29 years ago, when war came to Bendery and Moldovan weapons carried death. The maternity hospital in Bendery was in the line of fire In June 1992. There were about eighty patients in the medical facility, 32 of whom were women in labor, and not only residents of Bendery, but also residents of nearby Moldovan villages by the time the Moldovan policemen of special purpose police unit arrived in the city. Rescuing, the medical staff evacuated them to the basement. Brave midwives, crawling, delivered equipment, medicines, inventory. They saved the documentation and medical equipment by a woman's, or by a military trick: they announced that the building was mined. Later they had to convince the firefighters that there was no danger of an explosion. All this is the military history of the most peaceful of possible institutions – the Bendery maternity hospital. It has become a good tradition for the wife of the PMR President to visit it on June 19. Svetlana Krasnoselskaya congratulates mothers of all babies born on June 19 and on the eve of this date. Flowers and gift certificates have already been received by nine women - those who are now in the postnatal department. The only baby was born on June 19, 2021. Doctors are ready to deliver another baby.
Svetlana Krasnoselskaya addressed words of gratitude to the staff of the Bendery maternity hospital - for their daily feat, for the happiness they give to parents, for the future of the country, which at the moment of birth is in the hands of an obstetrician. The gratitude of the family of the President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic is not only state, but also personal: three children of Svetlana and Vadim Krasnoselsky were born within the walls of this maternity hospital.
