The cult of the family, respect for the institution of marriage, values based on the canons of Orthodoxy, respect for the connection between generations, demographic policies aimed at supporting family and childhood - all this is characteristic of Pridnestrovian society. On July 8, the church honors Saint Peter and Fevronia of Murom, as patrons of family happiness, in the official calendar the date is called the Day of Family, Love and Loyalty. Holidays are tied together by a common essence. Today, residents of Tiraspol and guests of the city marched in a family march from the theater named after N. Aronetskaya to "The Victory" Recreation Park. At the head of the column is the PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky with his wife. The initiator of the festive mass procession was the Tiraspol-Dubossary Diocese, calling the event a march of the family in defense of Orthodox family values. The final point was a prayer at the entrance to the city park, at the end of which the church part of the celebration was replaced by the secular. Participants of the holiday witnessed the solemn ceremony of marriage of new married couples, honoring those who go through life hand in hand over many decades, and large families. The President presented gifts to spouses who happily lived in marriage 55 years. Today, the park’s scenic platform has been raised for congratulations from the leadership of the country and the city and those who have been married for half a century or 45 years.
Congratulating Pridnestrovians on the holiday, Vadim Krasnoselsky noted that wealth can not replace family values. At the same time, the family is a fragile vessel that needs to be strengthened and filled with love and loyalty, the President emphasized. “The future of Pridnestrovie is a strong family. It is significant that in our republic the leaders of the Supreme Council and the Government have large families”, said Vadim Krasnoselsky, who is the father of three children. Vadim Krasnoselsky wished the residents of the republic to increase their families, courage, and strengthen their faith. Pridnestrovian families were also congratulated by the wife of the PMR President Svetlana Krasnoselskaya, “Love, understand and trust each other. Many have already passed certain frontiers - a year, ten, fifty years of marriage. Despite this, do not forget the day when you tied your destinies. Love each other decades later. Believe in love. The longer you believe in it, the longer and brighter it will burn in your families and warm you”.
Music was played in the park all evening. Farmsteads, themed play and entertainment areas, master classes were organized for children and their parents.
