Information on the number of cases of COVID-19 among Pridnestrovians is constantly changing. The number of infected is growing. At the beginning of the meeting with the President, the Head of the Operational Headquarters Ruslan Mova reported 67 recorded facts (62 carriers of infection among patients in Slobodzeya hospital, one citizen of PMR in COVID-19 in Chisinau medical institution, and four Pridnestrovians who died from coronavirus), information came about seven new cases (biomaterial research results from Chisinau).
There are currently 74 people in Slobodzeya hospital. If their number exceeds two hundred, the institution will only accept local residents with suspected coronavirus. Nonresident will be placed on a territorial basis. Organization of local coronavirus bases is underway throughout the republic. Chief physicians reported on progress in this direction. The largest center is planned to be in Rybnitsa. It will cover the whole north of the republic and if necessary and possible Dubossary and Grigoriopol. At the same time, smaller infectious diseases departments should be ready to receive COVID-19 carriers in each city. Now they are preparing re-equipment, improvement. An important issue is staffing. Active and reserve brigades are formed. Secondment of specialists from one locality to another is possible. Functioning and supposed to be included in anticoronavirus activity - the material and technical base is formed at each facility. Available inventory, equipment, medicines, protective clothing and related attributes that ensure the safety of physicians are distributed, and additional ones are made. For example, Rybnitsa clothing factory is involved (sewing protective medical suits) and Ostrog state unitary enterprise (production of mattresses and pillows). Among medical facilities, 21100 reusable masks were distributed. 15000 more units are claimed. Approximately 12 thousand overalls are sewn and delivered to the addressees. 1178 sets of protective clothing of reusable use and 381 antiplague suits are in stock. 348 pairs of glasses are manufactured. There is a need for another eight hundred. Antiviral respirators are still in short supply. Head doctors of various institutions received 575 pieces, as many as was needed. Significant volumes of medicines were purchased, the effectiveness of which in the fight against coronavirus has been clinically confirmed, according to the PMR acting Minister of Health Elena Kulichenko.
The chief physicians of large medical institutions of the republic reported on the work being done, outlined the existing problems, and voiced the current needs. The President was informed not only about the upcoming sites for the isolated placement of coronavirus patients and the quarantine of potential carriers of infection, but also about the prospects of placing medical staff for temporary residence outside families. They discussed financial issues in connection with unforeseen expenses amid the suspension of the provision of paid services by medical institutions. They talked about the feasibility of equipping Slobodzeya hospital with a computer tomograph, as well as equipment for hemodialysis. To date, COVID-19 infected patients in need of this vital procedure are delivered from Slobodzeya to an isolation ward in the specialized department of the capital's hospital at night (to minimize contact). Taking into consideration the danger of the spread of coronavirus, as well as the fact that if their health worsens, the transportation of such citizens can be life-threatening, the President instructed to immediately work on this issue.
Work is ongoing to prepare for the launch of a biomaterial research laboratory for patients with suspected COVID-19. In addition to the 5000 tests available from Russia, measures are being taken to purchase an additional quantity. An important aspect, which the head of the Center for AIDS and Infectious Diseases Control drew attention to, on the basis of which the COVID-19 laboratory is located: the institution continues its profile activities: citizens with a diagnosis of HIV (AIDS) are under medical supervision, are constantly visited at home by doctors, provided with essential medicines for life support.
The President raised the question of the need to support health workers infected with COVID-19 during the performance of official duties related to the fight against coronavirus. The Government has been instructed to develop a legal framework for the provision of financial assistance aimed at rehabilitation. At the same time, Vadim Krasnoselsky again emphasized that it is important to prevent infection of doctors. Paramount in this matter is the consciousness and responsibility of the physicians themselves.
Issues not related to the medical area were discussed during the extended meeting. It was, for example, support for the poor. The President called on representatives of the legislative and executive branches of Government to step up work in this direction. The law governing this sphere, among other things, should be submitted to the President for signature immediately, Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized. The Government was instructed to provide funding, and the heads of state administrations - the implementation of a social project to provide a number of preferential categories of citizens with food packages.
Another important topic is the attitude of citizens towards restrictive quarantine requirements. The fact is that many parents perceived the opportunity to take their children to fresh air as a green light for free and mass street presence. Children's walks are possible only accompanied by a parent and in conditions of complete contactlessness, emphasized Vadim Krasnoselsky. Responsibility for fulfilling these requirements is with the parents or guardians. The President called on every Pridnestrovian to be conscious and secure.
