Accompanied by a group of officials the PMR President inspected the progress of repair and construction work in the Republican Clinical Hospital. Several buildings are currently being put in order in the hospital. One of them was considered an unfinished construction project for many years. A food block building was constructed on its basis. The institution has needed this location for a long time. The hospital's chief physician Igor Tostanovsky noted that thousands of patients pass through the medical facility every year. More than 22 thousand people were admitted, 6181 of whom were from out of town last year. It is important not only to provide nutrition to citizens, but also to create conditions for cooking and eating. It was decided to allocate a separate area for the kitchen and dining room. It was assumed initially that a laundry would be located in the same building for more efficient use of space, but the sanitary and epidemiological service considered such a neighborhood unacceptable, and the project was adjusted. Some of the work was completed in 2024, and continues this year. The current inspection revealed some shortcomings. The roof is leaking in some places. The President instructed to look into the causes and take measures to eliminate them at this stage, so as not to face the consequences of the shortcomings after the facility is put into operation, when it will be much more problematic to correct the situation.
The President was told and shown the existing difficulties that resulted from the poor quality construction of previous years. There is a noticeable subsidence of the building in the tomography premises currently being renovated, built in the early 2000s in violation of standards. The floor is collapsing in fact. The reason is the lack of a full-fledged foundation. Specialists are working on options for correcting the situation. The significance of the facility was noted. 5733 computed tomography studies were performed there last year: 1848 – CT of the chest organs, 1441 – of the abdominal cavity, 1150 – of the pelvis, 740 – of the brain, 436 – of the spine, 118 – of the musculoskeletal system. The President inspected the future X-ray room of the tuberculosis dispensary of the Republican Clinical Hospital. The premises are almost ready. The new equipment has been purchased. Vadim Krasnoselsky asked to name the exact date of the equipment launch. The head physician of the Republican Clinical Hospital said that the first X-ray will be taken on July 1 of this year. He said that fifty city residents and about three dozen rural residents are registered at the tuberculosis dispensary.
A large amount of work has been carried out in the building of the infectious diseases department. It is not only being renovated, but also expanded, increasing the area by 300 square meters. This is necessary to accommodate a sufficient number of maximum two-bed wards with separate bathrooms. Igor Tostanovsky said that20 adult and children's beds for patients with infectious diseases were deployed in the Republican Clinical Hospital in 2024. About 1400 people were hospitalized during the year, spending a total of 11 thousand bed-days in the hospital. Repair of the infectious diseases department building was one of the priorities. According to the Capital Investment Fund program, 19 million rubles were allocated in 2024, and another 9.5 million this year. They did not just overhaul the building, but reconstructed it. They installed an elevator, arranged a drainage well, and built a chlorination room among other things. The facility should be commissioned by the end of the year. Patients and staff, who are housed on the site of the Slobodzeya hospital during the repair, will return upon completion of the work.
The presidential inspection affected the building of the former therapeutic department, which, according to the reconstruction project, will house the administration of the Republican Clinical Hospital and an educational and simulation center. Work here began in 2024 and continues this year. Vadim Krasnoselsky asked about the facade work. The exterior design is planned in the same style as the new facial surgery building. This direction will be followed in the future so that the hospital complex as a whole looks like a single infrastructure ensemble from an architectural point of view.
