Republican Clinical Hospital: Updating the Hospital Infrastructure

The Republican Clinical Hospital has been included in the state capital investment program for several years now. The infrastructure of the medical campus is being updated and expanded. Work is underway currently at four locations. Each of them was visited by the President. The chief physician of the Republican Clinical Hospital and the contractor reported on the progress.

The infectious diseases department building is being reconstructed. 9.5 million rubles were allocated this year. The building has been redeveloped – old partitions have been dismantled and new ones erected as needed, the floors have been put in order, window units have been replaced, roofing and electrical work has been completed. The third floor is already in the "white version", the internal renovation of the other two is in progress. Passenger and freight elevators have been thought out. It is planned that the updated department will be ready to receive patients in the fall of next year.

A large amount of work has been carried out in the building of the former therapeutic department, which is being prepared to accommodate the hospital administration and a simulation (training) center. Five million rubles have been spent. There is still much to do. The facility is expected to be commissioned in 2026. The meeting participants discussed some work issues that require an agreed solution. Vadim Krasnoselsky asked how they plan to use the building, which currently houses the administrative staff. Igor Tostanovsky reported that they want to place a medical center warehouse in the vacated premises.

The PMR President inspected the future food block. Work is on schedule there. The hospital laundry in addition to the kitchen and canteen will be located in this building. The current year's funding is 9.2 million rubles.

The major repairs cover the premises of the cardiology department of the Republican Clinical Hospital. Almost three million rubles have been allocated this year. A vestibule with a porch was added to the building, window and door units were replaced, floors were repaired, partitions were moved, all utility networks and plumbing were updated. Vadim Krasnoselsky drew attention to the flooring: it should not only be beautiful, but also safe. The best option for hospital corridors is medical linoleum, said the participants of the off-site meeting. Work in the building is in its final stages. The interlocutors spoke about the need to update the energy supply network of the medical campus, the arrangement of a parking lot and the fate of the building, which now houses the psychiatric department. The building was built in the 1930s in violation of building codes, which led to its destruction. It is not practical to preserve the facility.
