Another topic discussed at today’s meeting was the use of escheated and ownerless real estate. Vadim Krasnoselsky considers such properties should not sit idle while municipal budgets cover the associated costs; instead, they should be allocated to the housing stock for instance, as official housing. The President instructed officials to gather information on such properties in every city and district, as well as data on the current demand for official housing, in order to assess the overall situation and make practical decisions moving forward. Deputy Chairman of the Government Vitaly Neagu has been tasked with overseeing the project.
