It was noted during the meeting of the Operational Headquarters under the President that COVID-19 is not receding. The incidence rates are not critical, but are still growing. The epidemiological situation is assessed by specialists as persistently unfavorable. The participants of the meeting noted that the vigilance and responsibility of citizens began to decline, and the incidence rates in response were growing. Members of the Operational Headquarters see vaccination as an effective preventive tool. 18.4 percent of all residents of the republic to date have taken part in the vaccination campaign. Vaccinations against coronavirus in Pridnestrovie are given only to adults, so we can talk about 22.4 percent of the vaccination coverage of citizens admitted to this preventive procedure. They talked about the need to intensify information and agitation activities so that the Pridnestrovian society quickly develops collective immunity against COVID-19. The President emphasized at the same time that the principle of voluntary vaccination is preserved. Vadim Krasnoselsky drew attention to such a category of citizens as students: there are signals that in some educational institutions, the presence of a certificate of a complete course of vaccination is called a mandatory condition for students to settle in hostels. Coercion in this matter is unacceptable, the Head of State noted.
The President asked about anti-coronavirus vaccine availability. According to the chief sanitary doctor of the PMR, AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson are available, as well as Pfizer for those who will have the second stage of vaccination. Regarding the latter, negotiations are underway on the purchase, in addition, the next delivery to WHO on the humanitarian line is expected. Options for purchasing other vaccine are being worked out.
Discussing preventive measures, they focused on the topic of fulfilling sanitary and epidemiological requirements in public transport. It is noted that many passengers and drivers ignore the mask mode. Instructions were given to strengthen control in this sphere.
Members of the Operational Headquarters spoke about such an aspect as the timeliness of seeking medical help. It was noted that deaths of COVID-19 disease are most often associated with late initiation of treatment. The Head physician of the Slobodzeya hospital Alena Lapina gave a recent example. A family of three, with obvious symptoms of all coronavirus, preferred self-medication for ten days. The doctor was called ten days later, when everyone's condition worsened. They refused to be hospitalized despite the identified COVID-19. A few days later they were taken to the hospital. The oldest was diagnosed with 75 percent pulmonary injury. Despite all the efforts of the doctors, the elderly patient died. The condition of her granddaughter also raises serious concerns - the woman is in intensive care, connected to artificial lung ventilation device, and 80% percent pulmonary injury.
Such a seasonal disease as allergies was mentioned in the course of the meeting. The fight against ragweed continues. There are foci in the immediate vicinity of medical facilities. The President instructed State Administrations and a number of departments to provide assistance to hospitals: the thickets of the allergen must be urgently eliminated so as not to aggravate the condition of patients undergoing treatment.
