The incidence of COVID-19 in Pridnestrovie is growing. If a week earlier the average daily indicator was fixed at 54, then 82 cases of infection were recorded daily in the reporting period from September 6 to 12, on average. This was discussed in the course of the meeting of the Operational Headquarters under the President. 681 people are undergoing treatment for coronavirus in a hospital or on an outpatient basis at the moment. The percentage of cases of severe course of the disease is growing: if earlier they talked about 6-7%, now the indicator is approaching 20%. Accordingly, the consumption of medical oxygen also increased – from 100 to 160 cylinders per day. The main supplier, Moldavian Metallurgical Plant, is still ready to supply the healthcare system with liquefied oxygen. It was noted that the optimal output is five tons per day. The plant will be able to withstand the maximum load of 6 tons for no more than a month, informed the head of the Operations Headquarters Vitaly Nyagu. He said that it was not possible to restore the equipment of the Slobodzeya station on its own. The high-pressure pump is being repaired in Chisinau. The stage of post-recovery testing is underway. It is expected that the equipment will be delivered to Pridnestrovie and commissioning will be carried out this week.
The meeting participants discussed readiness to expand the network of infectious diseases hospitals in case of worsening epidemiological situation. According to Vitaly Nyagu, 720 beds are ready to be deployed in Tiraspol on the basis of the Republican Clinical Hospital and 190 in the hospital of veterans, the Bendery hospital will be able to receive 130 COVID-patients (today an additional 35 beds have been prepared for those already functioning), 325 – in the Center for Mother and Child of Bendery. The options for placing carriers of the virus in other cities have been thought out. There is no way to increase the bed capacity in Slobodzeya. There are 300 beds deployed there, 280 out of 300 are occupied. In total, if necessary, the hospital network of the republic will be able to simultaneously receive 2330 people. Non-core institutions are also preparing - sanatoriums and dispensaries (approximately six hundred places). They are used in an emergency: practice has shown little efficiency in organizing the treatment process at the site of unadapted institutions. Their main functionality is to isolate the carriers of the virus. Treatment is best carried out in a classical hospital if possible. Vadim Krasnoselsky drew attention to the fact that hospital beds are not sleeping places, but a full-fledged complex of medical services. The PMR President keeps personal control over the provision of medical institutions with personnel, medicines, and personal protective equipment. The leadership of the Ministry of Health reported on the new arrival of personal protective equipment. There are approximately five hundred thousand disposable masks and about three hundred thousand respirators in stock.
Advances in vaccination were discussed. More than 20% of the total population of the republic has been vaccinated at the moment (this is almost 25% of adult citizens). The course was attended by 95176 people. Particular attention was paid today to the vaccination of educators, their protection, and hence the children with whom they work, 37% of educators.
The issue of testing student trainees sent to educational institutions was raised at the meeting. It would be wrong to oblige young people to take the COVID test at their own expense, and it is unacceptable to allow potential carriers of the virus to visit children, the President said. He instructed to think over the mechanism and provide budget funding.
