Working discussion with members of the Operational Headquarters

Continued increase in the incidence of coronavirus was noted in the course of the meeting of the Operational Headquarters under the President. Indicators are not going up as rapidly as in other states in Pridnestrovie, but there are negative trends. If a week earlier the average daily incidence was 51 cases, then the latest data 54 patients daily on average. So far, two hospitals are coping with the load – Slobodzeya and Rybnitsa. Its hospital bed capacity has recently been increased and is now 87% utilized. The hospital in Bendery is ready to receive patients. Fifty places have been equipped so far. If necessary, the beds number can be tripled. Vadim Krasnoselsky determined a further schedule for reopening infectious diseases hospitals: Tiraspol, Dubossary, Kamenka, Grigoriopol, and Parkany – they will return the status of coronavirus hospitals to medical institutions in this order if necessary.

The President drew attention to the increased awareness of citizens and confidence in the health care system. If a year ago, many supported home treatment for COVID-19, today the majority of those infected insist on hospitalization. 90 out of the 482 cases are treated on an outpatient basis only at the moment.

They also spoke at the meeting about the danger of untimely seeking professional medical help. Last week, the Slobodzeya hospital recorded as many deaths as never before - nine deaths in seven days. Most of them turned to doctors too late, relying to the last on the ability of their own body to cope with the disease.

Children's incidence of coronavirus was also mentioned at the meeting. 13 minors are undergoing treatment for the new virus in Slobodzeya, the youngest of whom is three months old, four more children are in the Rybnitsa infectious diseases hospital. There are four pregnant women among the patients of COVID hospitals.

The vaccination campaign continues in the republic. 92687 people have completed the full course of vaccination against coronavirus at the moment. As the chief sanitary doctor Natalia Beril told the President, the signing of documents is expected in the near future, according to which over 2000 doses of the first component of the vaccine "Pfizer" and 3100 doses of the one-component vaccine "Johnson & Johnson" will be delivered to Pridnestrovie.

The PMR President asked about the availability and planned supplies of medicines and personal protective equipment. According to the information announced by the leadership of the Ministry of Health, 500 thousand disposable masks, 240 thousand respirators and 50 thousand tests for detecting coronavirus are expected to arrive in the republic in addition to the stocks available in medical institutions and in the warehouses of the department.

Vadim Krasnoselsky was interested in the consumption of medical oxygen. If last week it took about 134 cylinders per day, then 158 units were used yesterday. The President recalled his instruction to form a reserve of 150 tons and constantly replenish it up to this figure.

The President focused on such problems as the rehabilitation of citizens who have had coronavirus. He considers it necessary to provide such assistance. Vadim Krasnoselsky instructed the Ministry of Health to analyze the consequences faced by former patients of COVID hospitals and form a list of medical services that will be provided at the expense of the state. It is assumed that post-coronavirus recovery will be organized on the basis of two institutions - the Dnestr and Dnestrovskie Zori sanatoriums. The Government will have to work out a mechanism, defining the categories of citizens who will fall under the Program, and provide funding.

The issue of organizing football matches is relevant in the light of recent sporting events. The big international game is expected on the 15th of September. As the Minister of Internal Affairs Vitaly Neagu noted, the spectator stands will be half full. Entrance to the stadium – with a personalized ticket, as well as a passport or birth certificate (for children). These are UEFA requirements, the purpose of which is to ensure safety, Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized.
