The indicators dynamics related to the spread of COVID-19 were analyzed and statistics were announced in the course of the meeting of the Operational Headquarters for prevention of the spread of coronavirus. According to Ruslan Mova, 14279 samples of biomaterials were examined during February (an average of 510 units per day - slightly less than in January, and half the December average daily testing). The presence of infection was confirmed in 18% of cases (in January and December, the disease was confirmed in 25% and 35% of cases, respectively). The incidence among prisoners had a negative impact on the February statistics. 346 cases of COVID-19 infection in total were detected in the institutions of the State Penitentiary Service. 259 patients were successfully treated. As for the mortality among carriers of the infection, it was much lower in February than the two previous months (February - 63 deaths, January - 153, December - 214).
As for the latest data, there has been a noticeable increase in the incidence of COVID-19 among Pridnestrovians within a few days. The sanitary service was instructed to analyze the current sanitary and epidemiological standards taking into account the negative situation in neighboring states and update the regulations and restrictive requirements if necessary.
The President emphasized in the course of the working discussion that in case of the slightest signs of a worsening condition of patients with coronavirus who are undergoing home treatment, they must be transferred to hospitals without fail. There is such a possibility: specialized hospitals are currently occupied by 43%. Vadim Krasnoselsky spoke about the upcoming vaccination of the population, noting that voluntariness is its fundamental principle, but at the same time it is extremely important to remember about contraindications for vaccination against coronavirus. The Ministry of Health was instructed to form a list of contraindications and bring this information to everyone who will be involved in the process of vaccinating citizens. Deputy Minister of Health Alexander Kuznetsov informed the President about the thematic seminar held on February 26 with the participation of WHO specialists. It is noted that community immunity can be developed in society, provided that 70% of the population is covered by vaccinations. Alexander Kuznetsov spoke about his inspection of hospitals and medical institutions of the polyclinic network. Conclusion: the sanitary and epidemiological discipline is markedly reduced. The chief doctors were instructed to take control of the situation.
The provision of the health care system with medicines and protective equipment was discussed at the meeting. There is no shortage. Antigen tests are also in abundance - there are 86850 units in the medical depot of the department. They spoke about inadmissibility of unreasonable delays in deliveries. The President considers that financial sanctions should be spelled out in contracts with suppliers in case of late fulfillment of obligations in absence of force majeure circumstances.
The educational process in the pandemic is another topic of the working discussion. The President was informed that 45 classes and 12 groups of kindergartens have been closed due to quarantine at the moment. Vadim Krasnoselsky raised the issue of the permissible occupancy of classes. He emphasized that this aspect is of particular importance in the pandemic. Vadim Krasnoselsky drew attention to the fact that in the presence of incomplete schools and classes, there are seriously overcrowded ones. The Sanitary and Epidemiological Service was instructed to carry out checks throughout the republic to ensure the safety of children in classrooms in terms of the ratio of the area of the premises and the number of students. The results will be reported to the President personally.
