Vaccination marathon in the villages of Pridnestrovie – is the order of the President

The issues related to the intensification of measures to prevent and combat the spread of COVID-19 were discussed during one of the working meetings under the President, which was attended by the Chairman of the PMR Government, the Minister of Healthcare, the deputy minister of internal affairs and the chief sanitary doctor of the republic.

They talked about progress in vaccination. To date, over one hundred thousand people have been vaccinated against coronavirus in Pridnestrovie. There are five types of vaccine available: 640 doses of AstraZeneca, 300 Pfizer, 1815 Sinopharm, 2035 Johnson and 24000 Sinovac. There are more than a hundred vaccination rooms in operation. At the same time, Vadim Krasnoselsky noted that the rural population is less involved in the vaccination campaign. The PMR President considers it expedient to provide villagers with an opportunity to get vaccinated without leaving for this to the city or regional centers.

The President ordered a nationwide vaccination marathon in rural areas to be held next weekend. It was decided that the vaccine "Johnson" (its advantage is that it does not require repeated vaccination) and "Sinovac" (this vaccine is in abundance at the moment) will be delivered to rural medical and obstetric centers and rural medical outpatient clinics.

Vadim Krasnoselsky noted that a decision will be made to continue this practice following the results of the first vaccination tour of the villages. The marathons will then be held at least twice more. Firstly, in two or three weeks the second dose of Sinovac is to be delivered to the patients, and secondly, a large supply of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine to the republic is expected in the near future, which should also be made available to the villagers, set the task the President.
