The President was provided with information on the current state of agriculture

The PMR President requested information on the current state of the republic's agricultural sector. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, the area of agricultural land in cultivation amounts to almost 230000 hectares, 220000 of which is arable land, 8700 hectares are perennial crops, and just over 1000 hectares are pastures and hayfields. 351000 tons of first-group grain have been harvested (yield 37.8 centners per hectare), of which 286500 tons are winter wheat (yield 35.2 centners per hectare). These figures are higher than projected but lower than last year. The decline is due to late frosts and prolonged drought. The southern part of Pridnestrovie has suffered the most: the yields have fallen by half compared to 2024 levels in the Slobodzeya district, Tiraspol, and Bendery. However, the situation has not reached critical levels thanks to good harvests in other regions of the republic. The overall gross harvest of first-group grains is only 4-5% lower than the previous year. The country is not only fully self-sufficient in grain but also has reserves for export. Importantly, agricultural exports outside the republic account for a significant share of exports of Pridnestrovie. Sunflower, flax, mustard, sorghum, peas, chickpeas, lentils, and rapeseed are grown for sale abroad. This year's rapeseed harvest is a record 50000 tons. Almost all of this is for export. In just the first nine months of 2025, Pridnestrovie exported nearly 255000 tons of grain and industrial crops, worth $80.8 million. Recent precipitation has disrupted the sunflower, sorghum, and corn harvest, but the autumn rains are favorable for sowing winter crops, according to farmers. It is now crucial to meet the sowing dates for wheat, barley, and rye.

It was noted in the report presented to the PMR President that spring frosts negatively impacted the fruit harvest. Approximately 40% of last year's volume has been harvested. Winegrowers are still working. To date, 11500 tons of grapes have been harvested, including for processing at the KVINT and Bouquet of Moldova factories. Vegetable harvesting also continues. Producers guarantee that all public organizations will be supplied with locally produced vegetables. Moreover, there are enough vegetables to satisfy the domestic market. The exception is potatoes. Green peas, sweet corn, cauliflower, and broccoli are processed.

The state program for the restoration and development of the land reclamation complex continues. It is designed for five years, including 2026. Thirty-nine state-owned facilities have been repaired. Approximately 50 million rubles have been allocated. The equipment worth 942200 rubles was purchased, increasing the irrigated area by 1300 hectares in 2025. 60 million cubic meters of water were supplied during the 2025 irrigation season. Land users consider that the coverage of cultivated agricultural land by reclamation is significant, but not yet complete, which suggests the continued implementation of the state program is advisable.
