The President was informed about the consequences of torrential rains and the measures taken to eliminate it

The southern and central parts of the republic – the capital, Slobodzeya and Dubossary districts suffered the most as a result of the thunderstorm on June 30 and July 1. The emergency service of the Main Directorate for Emergency Situations received more than fifteen calls. Nine of them were from residents of Tiraspol, one from Bendery, three from residents of Dubossary, who reported about falling trees. Accidents on power lines led to temporary de-energization of facilities: 111 in Tiraspol, 444 in Blizhny Khutor, 855 in Slobodzeya subscribers were disconnected. The Interior Minister Ruslan Mova said in the course of the meeting under the President that the power supply was promptly resumed by the forces of several brigades. The second wave of bad weather in the form of torrential rain covered the republic on July 2. Four households were flooded in the capital, five in Sukleya, and 25 in Bendery. The evacuation of residents was required in only one case. 1044 Bendery subscribers were left without electricity for an hour and a half. The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs informed the President that 37 appeals were received by the Emergency Management Department on July 2 due to the downpour. Vadim Krasnoselsky expressed gratitude to everyone who was involved in the work to eliminate the consequences of the disaster. The President drew attention to the fact that the precipitation was of a salvo nature, and its volume significantly exceeded the monthly norm. This concerns the objective reasons for the current situation with the water in particular in Bendery. Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized at the same time that the capital solved this problem several years ago. Oleg Dovgopol shared his experience with colleagues. The Head of the city recalled that there were several areas in Tiraspol that were constantly under water during heavy rains. The problem was solved by high-quality cleaning of storm water and sewer systems with the help of special equipment that cleans pipes with a diameter of up to 1.5 meters under high pressure. The entire network was thoroughly cleaned up. Preventive measures are carried out after each rain. Considering that the equipment is not permanently used in the capital, the President recommended testing it in other towns. The administrations of the settlements will establish contractual relations with each other and will use the Tiraspol canal-washing unit on a lease basis if the effectiveness of this mechanism is confirmed. The capital's specialists will go to Bendery for a test run today or tomorrow on the instructions of the President.

Another problem is the destruction of the road surface by torrential streams. It became necessary to allocate additional resources for its restoration. The issue of funding sources is being worked out. The President emphasized that it is inappropriate to asphalt such areas: the roadway laid on crushed stone is simply washed away. An alternative option is reinforced concreting.

When discussing the problems that surfaced with the arrival of heavy rainfall, the workshop participants named specific addresses. For example, the Republican Clinical Hospital was mentioned. Some buildings of the medical town, including the erected building of the forensic medical examination department, were built without a well-thought-out drainage system. The situation will have to be corrected. Instructions were given to work out possible solutions to the problem. The buildings with roofs that could not withstand the rain test were discussed. Many were not included in the capital investment program this year, but require immediate repair. The funds will be sought in a working order.
