The Presidential Inspection: Fix LLC – Ternovka village, Slobodzeya district

The President visited Slobodzeya district today. He met with local leadership – the head of the district administration and the chairman of the city and district council. The current state of affairs was discussed. They talked about agriculture – the basis of the Slobodzeya economy. Vasily Tishchenko recalled that there are more than 60 thousand hectares of agricultural land in the district. 53 thousand of them are arable land. There are perennial plantings and pastures. 456 enterprises of various forms of ownership are involved in the agro-industrial complex. 128157 tons of grain were harvested from 33280 hectares this year. The average yield in the district was 38.5 dt/ha. Slobodzeya residents are the main producers of Pridnestrovian vegetables. More than 17 thousand tons of various crops were grown this year: over 10 thousand tons of sugar beet, more than a ton of green peas, almost the same amount of tomatoes, 4630 tons of potatoes. Cabbage harvesting continues, so far 40% of the area has been harvested (1111 tons). 5319 tons of fruit were collected in the gardens, which occupy 887 hectares: 1797 tons of apples, 540 tons of peaches, 1762 tons of plums. The largest agricultural producers of the district are EuroRostAgro, Agrostar, Rustas. The contribution of the Fix LLC is also significant. This is the leader in vegetable growing in Slobodzeya district. The President visited today the warehouses of the organization in Ternovka. Vadim Krasnoselsky was greeted by two Vitaly Greku – the head of the company and his son. The President has already visited this enterprise. He asked about the current situation today. He was interested in whether the plans discussed at the meeting two years ago to expand the range of products had been implemented. Vadim Krasnoselsky was told that the borscht basket is no longer limited. The Fix LLC has 645 thousand hectares of land. They grow not only vegetables – potatoes, cabbage, tomatoes, cucumbers, beets, carrots, onions, sweet peppers, eggplants, radishes, squash, but also melons, herbs, mustard, sunflowers, peas, corn, wheat. All fields are irrigated. An important component is refrigeration equipment with a capacity of 3000 tons. They are harvesting more. They are planning to expand. If cabbage and carrots need mainly cold for preservation, for example, potatoes and onions require ventilation, Greku senior explained. He said that tomatoes and carrots were especially good this year. Greku junior formulated the answer to the President's question about how to protect the harvest from diseases in such a way that the harvest is like a child: if you try to give it everything it needs from childhood, it later gets sick less. They experimented with potatoes. They brought in new German varieties. Two of them are for sale immediately, and two more are for storage. They say the weather let them down. The heat is not good for the potatoes. Small potato tubers remained in the ground. The harvested ones began to sprout due to the high temperatures. The sprout extracts starch and turns it into sugar, which is not good, the farmers shared.

The interlocutors talked about crop rotation and irrigation. The President was told that they were restoring the old system. They purchased three Spanish pumps. Vadim Krasnoselsky was interested in the sales market. They sell within the republic. They built a building for the company store, and purchased equipment for it. In the future, they planned to open small retail outlets in the microdistricts of Tiraspol and, possibly, other cities of the republic.
