The current data was announced by the Minister of Internal Affairs of the PMR Vitaly Nyagu. He noted that the hydrometeorological center informed on the 5th of January in advance about the coming freezing rain, sleet, and icy conditions. The forecast period of bad weather is from the evening of January 7th to January 10th. The population was notified, relevant services were informed, and units of the State Emergency Situations Directorate were put on high alert.
272 public utility employees and 57 pieces of equipment were involved in measures to prevent crisis situations and eliminate the consequences of bad weather throughout the republic, and 315 tons of sand-salt mixture was consumed, as of 9 a.m. Monday. Three cases of street injuries and two accidents related to weather conditions were registered. Six citizens turned to stationary heating centers. To minimize emergency situations, the movement of vehicles on roads of international importance is temporarily suspended. The use of a number of Pridnestrovian roads is partially limited. It was decided after discussion by the meeting participants not to block Tiraspol-Bendery traffic.
There are many accidents on power supply networks. Weather circumstances caused power outages in some villages of Rybnitsa, Grigoriopol, Dubossary, Slobodzeya districts, as well as the village of Protyagailovka. According to Unified distribution power grids, 3755 subscribers remained without electricity this morning. Cases of shutdowns of heat supply systems have been recorded. The reason is the suspension of boiler houses due to lack of electricity. The problem has been solved in the village of Voronkovo. Butuchany, Krasnenkoe and Broshtyany are still without heat. There were no interruptions in the supply of water or gas.
Increased wind and snowfall are forecast throughout the day. Vadim Krasnoselsky gave a number of current instructions.
