The Minister of Internal Affairs in the course of the working meeting reported to the President about the crime situation following the results of five months of this year.
1.3 thousand crimes were registered during the reporting period, which is 9% less than in the same period last year. Ruslan Mova noted that the monthly dynamics of the decrease in the number of recorded crimes has been noted since the beginning of 2021. The registration of crimes decreased by more than 3% according to the criminal investigation department, by 10% with respect to public security militia, by 24% there were fewer robberies, 28% assaults with intent to rob. The number of crimes committed in public places has decreased by almost 4%.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Internal Affairs noted a slight increase in the number of especially grave crimes: from 67 to 69 facts. It is mainly associated with the identified crimes in the drug trafficking combating. 13 serious crimes were detected by militia officers more in 2021 than in five months of last year, explained Ruslan Mova.
As for the crime detection rate, there is also an obvious positive trend. As a result of the five months of the current year, in the case of completed criminal cases, the detection rate was 90.2%. It was at the level of 89.7% last year, for the same period.
